Transportation Practice Leader - Construction Management - Southern CaliforniaJoin a 100% employee-owned firm built for long-term thinking, shared success, and meaningful impact.As our Transportation Practice Leader for our Construction Management team in Southern California, you'll lead construction operations, drive business development, and oversee high-profile transportation projects while supporting the continued growth of our CM practice across Southern California.Why PsomasShared Success: An ownership culture that rewards long-term thinking and doing what's right.Retirement Benefits: Company-funded ESOP + 401(k) with immediate match.Hybrid Flexibility: Flexible hybrid work schedule.Career Growth: Clear pathways, coaching, and leadership development.People-First Culture: Collaborative teams that invest in your development.Meaningful Work: Lead transportation projects with regional impact.What You'll DoAs our Transportation Practice Leader, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for transportation construction management projects including highways, bridges, roadway improvements, interchanges, and transit infrastructure:Practice Leadership & Strategic Growth Guide the growth of the transportation CM practice, support business development, mentor staff, and strengthen client relationships with agencies such as Caltrans, counties, and local municipalities.Construction Leadership & Owner Representation Serve as the senior owner representative for complex projects, providing oversight to ensure construction aligns with approved plans, specifications, and regulations.Project Delivery & Performance Oversight Monitor contractor performance, construction progress, and project milestones to keep projects on schedule, within budget, and compliant with agency standards.Stakeholder Coordination & Issue Resolution Collaborate with public agency clients, designers, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders to resolve construction challenges and maintain project momentum.Team Leadership & Mentorship Provide guidance and mentorship to resident engineers, inspectors, and CM staff to build a strong, high-performing transportation CM team.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field15+ years of experience leading complex transportation infrastructure projectsActive California Professional Engineer (PE) LicenseStrong understanding of Caltrans and local agency construction standardsDemonstrated success managing complex transportation programs and client relationshipsCompensation & BenefitsSalary: $185,000 - $220,000 annually (commensurate with experience)Vehicle Benefit: Auto allowance or company-provided vehicleIncentives: Discretionary bonus and recognition programsTime Off: 4 weeks PTO plus 8 paid holidaysTotal Rewards: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your family, plus employee ownership and retirement benefitsOur Hiring ApproachOur recruiting team reviews every application personally and will keep candidates informed throughout the process.
