This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Kansas City, Kansas, on a full-time basis.This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.The RoleSeeking a creative, highly motivated, agile thinker with a passion for automation. The ideal candidate has a background in electrical or computer engineering with strong programming skills and can perform at a high level in a fast-paced, high volume manufacturing facility. This person shall be comfortable supporting manufacturing processes on the production floor. As a Controls Engineer you will be addressing production issues alongside quality, manufacturing, and maintenance teams. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain and improve existing production processes by using continuous improvement and problem-solving techniques.What You'll DoConfigure, program, test and troubleshoot PLC based control systems and associated componentsElectrical troubleshooting and testing of controls systems, control panels, and associated equipmentDiagnose and correct deficiencies in manufacturing processes and equipmentDevelop innovative solutionsDesign and deploy intuitive user interface displaysPropose and evaluate manufacturing processes and equipmentEffectively lead and support the installation, start-up, maintenance, and operation of automation systemsSupport and actively interact with manufacturing and quality groupsContinuously improve quality, cost, responsiveness & safetyYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent working experience5+ years of experience with industrial automation or controls systemsAvailability to work assigned off-shifts, including afternoon and/or night shifts.
